an extract of a larger illustration planned for my book next year. pure space op, focused on the tones and tried once again to obtain a good balance between abstraction and design.
Once again you've "taken me to the place" you've painted. And I know what time of day it is and how cold it feels and the sense of anticipation of the operation. I love how the engines feel choppy and spitting. Like they don't burn in a perfect hum but maybe a spatter of some sort.
waow, impressive! it's strange, I don't know why there is also something quite "old", you know, that kind of stuff you feel while reading an E.P. Jacobs "Blake & Mortimer"... such a good sensation anyway... that's great, can't wait to see more!
I love the colors of the spaceship, reminds me of the Red Barons getting ready for battle. It's always a treat to see your amazing work! Looking forward to get your book.

Hé oui, pour une fois je m'arrête pour causer! (là je pars du principe que tu comprends encore un peu le français ;) ) Juste pour dire que ton art nous en met plein les mirettes, que tu sais construire comme personne des univers complexes dans lesquels on se sent immédiatement transportés, que ta façon de traiter la lumière laisse pantois, et qu'il y aurait encore beaucoup de choses à dire mais que, bon, ce serait trop long pour un simple commentaire ... ;) Bonne continuation en tout cas, je vais maintenant faire une petite danse du soleil pour que tu gardes la main "verte" longtemps... :)
